Ideas:
As worship leaders, you've probably
found
that Christmas praise songs are
few and far
between. Christmas music is,
for the most
part, horizontal (talking about
God - in
this case, the incarnation) instead
of vertical
(talking to God.)
Tim Light and Don Chapman have cowritten
"I Adore You" to fill this need
- a simple, singable worship song you can
use with the traditional carols. It's two
songs in one: use "I Adore You"
all year long with new lyrics Tim has written.
Each order contains both the Christmas and
general versions.
Find a good male or female vocalist to introduce
"I Adore You" the first week and
invite the congregation to join in on the
last chorus. Then continue singing it congregationally
each week in December.
"I Adore You" is in G major and
would work well thematically and by key following
these carols:
"O Come, All Ye Faithful"
in G
major
"Joy to the World"
in D major
"The First Noel" in
D major
"Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne"
in
D major
