Ideas:
Musical benedictions for contemporary worship
are few and far between - if you've ever
wanted to try one, this is the song! Use
at the end of your service, baby dedications,
commissioning services.
The song comes in 2 versions:
long and short.
Introduce the song with the longer
version,
then use the shorter version
as your service
benediction.
The song also comes in 2 keys.
If your setup
is a male worship leader with
band, use the
D major version. If you have
a choir/praise
team, use the C major version.

A note about benedictions by Don Chapman (from the WorshipIdeas.com newsletter)
Evangelicals tend to avoid formal liturgical
elements, especially during the past few
years of the seeker movement. However, with
the coming wave of the emerging worship generation,
churches are re-evaluating their services.
I grew up Baptist, and my church rarely sang
a benediction. And on those rare occasions
when we did, "God Be With You Till We
Meet Again" was the hymn of choice.
Now I'm serving in a contemporary Presbyterian
church that is a bit more liturgical thinking
- our pastor speaks a benediction each week
at the end of the service, and we sing a
final benediction song.
I've found I really like this part of the
service - it's an uplifting way to end our
worship. If I'm visiting a worship service
that doesn't have a benediction I feel like
something's not right!
As far as benediction songs go, I can't imagine
our praise band wailing on "God Be With
You." Unfortunately there just aren't
many contemporary benediction songs out there
- CCLI lists only 170 benedictions in their
catalogue of over 20,000 songs. So I've started
writing my own. "The Lord Bless You"
that I cowrote with Tim Light is my favorite.
